Sister Hood

Sister Hood

Sister Hood seems destined for her life’s work helping people find the perfect buyer for their pastoral properties. She’s a fourth-generation Atlantan whose family has long been involved with making the city more beautiful and preserving its storied history. Her great grandfather G. Lloyd Preacher was the famed architect responsible for designing iconic buildings including Atlanta City Hall and the Henry Grady Hotel, along with a host of other notable buildings around the South. [1]

Sister grew up in Buckhead, where her love of the outdoors started early. She hunted and rode horses while she attended The Westminster Schools and the University of Georgia. Her mother Mary, with whom she shares a first name (thus, the delightfully Southern “Sister” nickname), was a long-time Harry Norman Realtors agent. For Sister, choosing a career in real estate and specializing in properties away from the city was the perfect way to marry her interests.

Over her 16 years in real estate, she’s developed prolific expertise in land, sporting properties and historic homes. She shines in managing transactions that other agents might find complex or challenging, leveraging her relationships and deep pool of resources including land managers and consultants, conservation specialists and lenders. Sister also helps clients connect with financial advisors who are experts in maximizing the monetary benefits of owning sporting properties.

She’s personally involved in organizations that focus on sporting properties and historic preservation and cultivation including The Southern Coalition of Mountain Stewards, Trust for Public Land, The Atlanta Preservation Center, The Nature Conservancy, The Georgia Trust and others, some of which she has served as a board member. Though she’s more comfortable shooting sporting clays with her 12 gauge Beretta or taking clients out quail hunting or fly fishing to experience the land they’re considering, her list of accolades is impressive. She’s a top producer for Harry Norman and a member of the company’s Success Circle, and she was a finalist for the 2020 Who’s Who in Luxury Real Estate marketing campaign. Her listings have been featured in USA Today, Architectural Digest, Garden & Gun, Good Grit, The Land Report, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta Homes &[2] Lifestyles, and on The Today Show and Good Morning America.

From a restored 1870s farmhouse on 400 acres in Jasper to a 6,000-acre farm and hunting estate in Perry, or to a 92 acre farm in Greensboro, no property is too specialized or nuanced for Sister to connect it with its perfect owner. For Sister, helping clients find their ideal home—or finding just the right person to love a piece of land—is its own reward.
